It's just too bad that the KING MAYOR of Utah, ROCKY ANDERSON, is not President, after all he is "smarter" than President Bush, and I know that because he said so, and I also know if you disagree with Rocky you are not a Patriot. Oh I heard that Rocky and Al Gore are making a movie together, it's called "AN INCONVIENT BROKEBACK TRUTH"

Anyway, I just hope we win the War in Iraq, we need the oil, the oil makes it so Hollywood Celebs can fly in Private Jets. (after all the Jets bring them their cocaine)

Re: ABC 4's Bush/Iraq War Forum

The current body count in Iraq is somewhere around, 62,000 Iraqies. 62,000 and they call it liberation. This entire war is a mess, one that ~my~ generation will be paying for until the day we die and to be perfectly honest, this war has made me question my willingness to promote America as #1. Recently, 33 people where killed and 33 people were injured at a virginia college from an event like columbine. as horrible as this tragedy is, we didnt choose it. it wasnt voted on by the american public to kill those students. but we did vote on killing 62,000 Iraqies and atleast 3000 troops. We choose those deaths, and now, please, try and tell me that the war was and is a good idea. because right now im just not convinced.

No one likes war. But it's part of our world culture, there is always a big bad gorilla on the block, ie a Super power. We the USA is that super power. We went to Iraq to defeat the terrorist and to make America safe. Anyone who knows their history would know that if we don't act in a preemptive manner, even more lives are lost. Just ask the French or the Checzs or the Polish.

Re: ABC 4's Bush/Iraq War Forum

Watching President Bush on TV last night was sickening. My son 10 just wants to know (his words) "When are we bringing the soldiers back?", "Why don't they all just get along?". What do I say...that his great country, is now practicing imperial occupation? My daughter 12 asks what would happen if everyone in America refused to go fight? I inform her about the Draft...how strange but wonderful she's never lived in a America that had a draft when many of our children have never even lived in a world where America was not at war. The tragedy on 9/11 was horrible and should have become a rallying point of our children's generation to PROTECT our homeland. At that point America had the entire free world on our side. A protective coalition against terrorism could have been formed to make not only America safe but also other countries free from terror. In the world today we are now viewed as imperialists forcing our way of life on the world. What do you think a 10 year old Iraqi boy thinks of America? Are we the "liberators" Mr. Bush said we'd be? I have not doubt that the President is a moral man and believes that what he is doing is the best for all. But is the person who KNOWS they are right always actually correct? There is a new book so properly titled "Dead Certain". I read one quote from the review that stuck out: Mr. Bush said "You can't learn lessons by reading. Or at least I couldn't. I learned by doing. I knew it was an uphill struggle. But see, I've never had a fear of losing. I didn't like to lose." How revealing for someone who claims to read at least 100 books a year. I wish some of those books had been about the history of the region Mr. Bush so boldly sent our brave troops into. Possibly he might have realized you CAN learn from books and instead of dying in Iraq, our soldiers would be home with their families or protecting our borders. Mr. Bush is "Dead Certain" he's right and always will be. I can only pray that somehow we can be delivered from this low point in history by a new leader. Unfortunately I don't see any candidates that have a"cult of personality" such as J.F.K. but we can always hope. So, like my point of view or not, you can at least admit a few things: We need to feed & house our own starving homeless, We need to build better schools and pay teachers what doctors and lawyers earn, We need to rebuild our country's infrastructure as roads and bridges are deteriorating or even collapsing, We need to teach our children that there are people in the world that don't look at things the way we do but that doesn't make them evil.

    The Iraq War Blog

Second Chance Publishing is pleased to announce the upcoming publication of The Iraq War Blog, An Iraqi Family's Inside View of the First Year of the Occupation, by Faiza Al-Araji, Raed Jarrar, and Khalid Jarrar.

The Iraq War Blog explores, through their words, the lives of three members of an Iraqi family who lived in Baghdad as the American military and coalition allies devastated the city. They persevered through night attacks and daytime missile strikes that oftentimes wreaked destruction to their home by blowing doors off hinges and breaking windows.

The Jarrar family, while chronicling their daily lives amid the destruction, also provide descriptive analyses of the political climate that resulted from the American occupation of the country.

The Iraq War Blog has a publication date of June 15, 2008.

The book is now available for pre-order on Amazon and at www.secondchancepublishing.com. Thank you and let's stop this illegal war.
