Do we really expect better?  In the long run (and in the short, as well), "September Dawn" won't amount to much.  Mountain Meadows was a supreme tragedy, and I genuinely wish that all those responsible had been prosecuted.  Such was not the case. 

Narratives on Mountain Meadows long ago moved from appeals to justice to commentaries on the truth claims of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.   So let's just be clear - this is not a quest for accurate historical fiction, but a polemic drawn on history.  Ah, well... At least Al Sharpton will have a movie to attend in June!  JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!
