All the snow this past season in the mountains (just short of 800" at Alta, an all-time record) is still sitting there above 8500 feet. In fact, there has been very little snowmelt in shady summit areas. But... it's mid June! Yes, it will take ALL summer and even September to melt the snow in those pockets. Some will stay snow covered, like the great Cirque on Mt. Timpanogas right through to next season. Does that mean we are developing glaciers? NO! Interestingly, since the snow never gets too deep each year, Utah actually doesn't have any glaciers, defined by deep ice which gets so heavy that it "moves" downslope. These are year-round snowfields. Of interesting this year of course is that there will be quite a few of them for die-hard skiers to play with.
