No. 1 is Steve Nash, aka the great white hope. Take away marion and they're still a playoff team. Take away Stoudemire (as was the case last year) and he's still MVP. And wait, no Yao? Gilbert has had a nice first half of the season, but only because he was pissed about not making the Oly roster. So he decided to shoot more. Anybody could do that. Wade should be lower. He has shown the Heat aren't anything without Shaq. And where's Melo? He's only leading the league in scoring and showing what a responsible role model he is. Doesn't that count for anything?
