Jazz on a roll - not the good kind
We in the ABC 4 Sports Complex, like many Jazz fans, are just trying to figure out what is wrong with this team. They are 12-13 since their red hot start. But lets just take a step back and chill. The Jazz are still 24-14, they are still in first place in the Northwest Division.
Its not the end of the world. The sky is not falling. Sure they've lost four in a row, even though they had a 15 point lead in pretty much all of those games, but they're not done yet. The big problem is stopping two-guards. Ray Allen scored 54 on Friday, Gil Arenas went off for 51 today, Dwyane Wade was in the 30's Saturday(in a blowout, if it would have been close he would have been in the 50's also). So they can't stop two-guards, I seem to remember just about every quick point-man in the league dropping about 40 on John Stockton, Utah still won plenty of those games.
Many are guessing that Andrei Kirilenko is on the trading block. And many are saying the Jazz should ship him to L.A., if Utah can get Corey Maggette out of the deal. Lets hold our horses. Do you remember in the past few years, when AK has gone down, the already flawed Jazz defense had serious problems without a bail-out shot blocker. Kirilenko is there to prevent easy layups when teammates get beat. Maggette is not that kind of guy. If you can't get Ron Artest, just stand pat. Keep AK around. Keep him here for his shot blocking. Keep him here for his occasional offensive outburst. Keep him here for his wife, whose 'policy' revelation last year was the bright spot of an otherwise dull regular season.
