Now that the BCS system has played out. Its time to revisit what would have happened if I was in charge. You know, the way it should have been. Someday my 11 game regular season, with a 16 team playoff will come to fruition. Its just a matter of time.
College Football Super Tournament
November 25, 2006
#16 Troy at #1 Ohio State
Its a beautiful day for college football, and all around the nation, teams are excited to kick off a tournament where the best team will really win. The only flaw some can find with my system is the inclusion of Troy. But hey, automatic berths are the basis for this playoff. This way, every team has a chance, unlike 2001 BYU(before Hawaii) and 2004 Utah. Much like a 1-16 matchup in the NCAA basketball tournament, this game is a serious mismatch. But its another home game and another big payday for the Buckeyes and the Big 10.
#9 Boise State at #8 USC
The best matchup of the first round means a road game for Boise State. Would they work their magic on the road in L.A.? Probably not. But since I have Bronco fever like the rest of the nation, I'll pick the upset.
#13 BYU at #4 LSU
This is the exact reason why I want to see this tournament. What BYU fan wouldn't want to see how the Cougars could do this year? Although going into LSU would be a tough test, especially the way the Tigers looked, crushing Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.
#12 Wake Forest at #5 Louisville
Anyone who watched the Orange Bowl knows how this movie ends. With the Cards coach leaving for the NFL.
#15 Central Michigan at #2 Florida
Apparently, the Gators are pretty good.
#10 Auburn at #7 Oklahoma
Before the Bowl games, I would have given this game to the Tigers. But, I was impressed by the Sooners fight in the Fiesta, while unimpressed by the punchless Auburn offense.
#14 Houston at #3 Michigan
While the Wolverines are another team that didn't improve its image in Bowl season, I still like their chances against Houston at the Big House.
#11 Notre Dame at #6 Wisconsin
As a Wisconsin fan, I feel very confident about the Badgers chances in this game, after watching Notre Dame in action. The Irish used an easy schedule to get into the B.C.S., and again dissapointed when they got there.
Tomorrow: Round two
