I'm still suffering from the Boise State hangover. The Broncos are the talk of the nation, and this may be yet another droplet in that Chinese-water torture that will eventually cause the demise of the BCS.
But one thing from that broadcast stood out. How cool was that Ian Johnson proposal? Johnson, the Broncos star running back, dropped to one knee and proposed to his cheerleader girlfriend. First he scored the game winning touchdown, and then he got engaged. A pretty good day, all in all. But. And its a big but. What is wrong with Fox broadcaster Chris Meyers? He finished his postgame interview with Johnson, and then said, "Now I know you're gonna propose to your girlfriend, congratulations." What a jerk. He ruined the moment. He's like the guy behind you in the movie line for the Sixth Sense who's talking just a little too loud, 'I see dead people. Yeah, Bruce Willis is really dead in this movie.'
Johnson still went to his knee, but you could tell from his girlfriends' reaction, the surprise was gone. Meyers gave us media dorks a bad name, like we needed any help.
