ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER

In T minus a couple of hours, I’m trading in my microphone for a beach towel. No reason to mistake my sentiment to temporarily depart our ABC4 newsroom as a joyful one. In fact, I say with both certainty and pleasure that I will sincerely miss the crazy antics of the ABC4 morning newsroom. Shall we call it, “Morning Madness?” Only the few and proud in the journalism industry understand the priceless nature of an editor’s successful football toss all the way across the newsroom. The sheer thrill instigated by a box of 30 warm Chipotle burritos delivered on Taste Test Tuesday at our typical 7am lunch hour. Or a consistent anticipation for Mr. Mike McKay’s endless lighthearted one-liners, most frequently aimed at “CB.”

Now, the most opportune time to address Mike McKay’s last blog: “Top 10 Reasons Why I Love Christiana Brady.” Drum roll, please, Carl. Christiana’s rebuttal? “Top 5 Reasons He Had To Make the List.”

5- It’s Christi‘an’a---Emphasis on the ‘an.’ Apparently 395 days of practice just isn’t enough. Who’s your mamma?

4- If Mike didn’t do it, then Todd Gross would’ve had to.

3- As a proud representative of Blonde America, we gratefully accept flattery as an apology for bad dumb blond jokes.

2- Because Mike sits in a heated studio in the snowy December months, while I freeze on the side of the highway he seems to know more about (meanwhile, I’m the one standing there.)

1- His asterisk implying bodily injury still stands as a viable threat (said in sweetest tone possible.)

CHRISTIANA’S WAKE-UP CALLS

"Knock. Knock. Who's there? Atch. Atch who? Bless you!"

This was your wake-up call this morning from 7-year old Jonah while jumping on a trampoline. Yesterday’s wake-up call involved burning up the runway with 7 foot supermodels. Just before that? Purple wigs and pom-poms in our Jazz Super Fan Competition.

These are the thrills of Good Morning Utah and we have you to thank! It’s you who lets us know about Utah’s most hidden gems, be it restaurants we feature on “Taste Test Tuesday” or the season’s hit shows. I hope to use this blog as your sounding board. What does every Utahan just need to see in order to believe?
